Accessibility Built In, Not Bolted On – Lunch & Learn with DevAlly (In Person)
21 May 2026 | 12:30 PM-2:00 PM Europe/Dublin (Dublin, Ireland)
Want to avoid up to €1m in EAA fines?
The European Accessibility Act is in enforcement. Actually, we’re coming up on its year anniversary this June. So what? you may say. Well, enterprise buyers are now requiring WCAG compliance the same way they require SOC 2. And in Ireland, non-compliance carries criminal liability – up to €60k in fines and 18 months in prison. And no-one wants that.
Most software teams know they need to act. Very few know what it actually takes.
On May 21st this Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), DevAlly is hosting a Lunch and Learn at Dogpatch Labs with the people doing this work IRL. We promise no slides. No pitching or sales talk. Just a practical conversation – and of course an open floor for product questions.
That’s what “built in, not bolted on” actually means in practice. Accessibility that gets retrofitted at the end of a product cycle costs ten times more to fix and takes ten times longer to get right. This session is about the how — how to use DevAlly to catch issues early in your build, give your engineering team a prioritised remediation backlog, and ship products that enterprise buyers can actually say yes to.
Who’s in the hotseat?
- Cian Dowling Accessibility Lead @ Synthesia
Synthesia is one of Europe’s most recognised AI video platforms, recently valued at $4bn+. Cian will speak from inside a live compliance journey – the accessibility issues found, a hard enterprise deadline, and what the remediation actually involved.
- Bruno Walraven Head of Product @ DevAlly
What we see across product teams getting accessibility right and how compliance gets built into product development without halting delivery.
- MC: Aisling Conlon-Mattu Head of Marketing @ DevAlly
This is for you if you are:
- A Head of Product, CTO, or engineering lead at a B2B SaaS company
- Building in Fintech, HR Tech, EdTech, or any sector selling to enterprise
- Facing a VPAT request, an EAA compliance question, or an enterprise procurement checklist
- A founder who wants to get this right before a customer, a regulator, or a law firm makes you
What’s the run of show?
12:30 – Arrival & Lunch
13:00 – Welcome
13:05 – Conversation
13:40 – Open floor
14:00 – Close & Networking
👾 Who we are

21 May 2026 | 12:30 PM-1:30 PM Europe/Paris (France)
📅 LinkedIn Live — Mexty Masterclass (60 min)

🎯 Goal: leave with a simple method you can apply starting tomorrow.
Agenda (60 minutes, live on LinkedIn)
- PPT → Interactive Quiz (15 min) Turn a PowerPoint into a quiz with feedback (plus a quick scenario-based variant).
- PDF → Microlearning + Quiz (15 min) Break down a dense PDF into short learning sequences with checkpoints to reinforce key ideas.
- Compliance Intro Mini-Game (20 min) Create a short, engaging intro activity (5–7 minutes) to make mandatory compliance training more engaging (score/badge + feedback).
🎁 Bonus for participants: Free templates 10 credits to start your Mexty trial
➡️ Register for the LinkedIn event (link below) and activate the reminder.
And tell me in the comments: do you usually start from a PPT or a PDF when creating training?

A dive into interactive web maps and a screen reader user’s experience. The State of Minnesota’s Office of Accessibility will host a conversation between a screen reader user and a map maker to discuss key accessibility questions including: Are some types of web maps easier to use than others? What are common barriers for screen reader users when using web maps? How can map designers/creators make maps more accessible? Are there certain “cheat codes” that assistive technology (AT) users can use when navigating web maps? Is it ok for web map creators to create custom navigation for their maps?
