15 May 2025 | 12:00 PM-1:00 PM Europe/Berlin (Germany)

AI and Accessibility: navigating the challenges, exploring the potential (Virtual)

15 May 2025 | 1:00 PM-2:30 PM Europe/Madrid (Spain)

Join us in celebrating Global Accessibility Awareness Day (#GAAD25) with “AI and Accessibility: Navigating the Challenges, Exploring the Potential”. This event is hosted by Transmedia Catalonia’s AccessTalks initiative in collaboration with the Be A(I)ware campaign under the ALFIE project. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, it presents both opportunities and challenges for digital accessibility. When developed responsibly, AI can break barriers and foster inclusivity. However, if mismanaged, it risks reinforcing biases and excluding vulnerable communities. This webinar will critically examine the intersection of AI and accessibility, addressing key concerns such as disaggregated data, algorithmic bias, fairness, user-centric design, and regulatory oversight. Attendees will gain insights into the latest research and innovative efforts to make AI more inclusive while tackling ethical concerns and current limitations.

Barrierefreie digitale Prüfungen (Virtual)

15 May 2025 | 1:00 PM-2:00 PM Europe/Berlin (Germany)

Welcome to learn more about digital accessibility and assistive technology – for free! Thursday 15 May at 13-17, the Funka Foundation invites you to an exciting and educational open house where people with different disabilities show how they use assistive technology. Our open house will answer all your questions:

  • See how assistive technology works in real life
  • You meet our experts who can put your experience into perspective
  • You will learn what you as a developer, website owner, UX designer, graphic designer or web author can do to fulfil the legal requirements for accessibility – and ensure that digital services work for everyone!
