Acessibilidade no Figma: Testar o Font Scaling com Variáveis (Accessibility in Figma: Testing Font Scaling with Variables) (Virtual)

03 Jun 2026 | 7:00 PM-8:00 PM Europe/Lisbon (Portugal)

For digital accessibility, a versatile design is essential—one that can adapt to different contexts and usage patterns. Since not all users interact with interfaces in the same way—often relying on different assistive technologies and strategies—it is crucial to consider flexible solutions, such as scalable fonts, which allow reading to be adjusted to individual needs. Font scaling, common in mobile devices and web browsers, enables text to be proportionally enlarged to ensure full readability. Design tools like Figma, through the use of variables, provide design teams with agile testing models for different scenarios still in the design phase. In this webinar, we will explore in practice how you can use Figma variables to help test font scaling versions of interfaces.

Ngably Online (Meet up) — Insider Story: Accessibility in the Daily Workflow of EU Diaspora Developers (Virtual)

06 Jun 2026 | 3:00 PM-3:30 PM Asia/Jakarta (Indonesia)

An online discussion featuring Indonesian diaspora developers working in Europe, sharing their experiences implementing accessibility practices within international product teams. The session explores workplace culture, accessibility standards, organizational challenges, and practical lessons from building accessibility initiatives from the ground up in European tech environments. While accessibility integration in local Indonesian product development practices may still be relatively uncommon, this session brings perspectives from two countries with more mature accessibility ecosystems, Norway and the Netherlands, and examines how regulations, organizational culture, and industry expectations shape accessible digital products. Whether accessibility expertise is seen as a practical skill to improve inaccessible Indonesian digital products, a professional advantage for working in global companies, or even part of the preparation for #KaburAjaDulu, this discussion aims to provide grounded insights into how accessibility is applied in real production environments — beyond theory, compliance checklists, or temporary trends. Participants will gain firsthand perspectives on how accessibility work is positioned inside international teams, how cross-functional collaboration happens in practice, and what technical and non-technical competencies are increasingly valued in today’s global digital industry.

FGD Accessible Game Experience Exploring Sensory Experiences in Gaming (Private/Internal)

13 Jun 2026 | 9:00 AM-4:30 PM Asia/Jakarta (Indonesia)

A focused group discussion designed to explore sensory experiences, accessibility barriers, and inclusive interaction patterns in games through direct dialogue with disabled gamers and relevant stakeholders. This session is intended as an early collaborative step to help initiate more grounded accessibility practices within the Indonesian game industry. Despite Indonesia being one of the largest gaming markets in Southeast Asia, accessible gaming practices are still rarely discussed or implemented within local studio workflows. In many cases, the topic remains limited to academic research or student theses, while studios and developers may still be unsure where to begin. Although global accessibility guidelines for games already exist, building meaningful implementation in Indonesia requires direct user validation and contextual understanding from players who experience barriers firsthand. This FGD aims to become one of those starting points — creating space for studios, developers, communities, and disabled gamers to exchange perspectives and identify practical accessibility priorities together. Insights from the discussion will be compiled into an open-source repository to support future accessibility practices, experimentation, and learning within Indonesia’s gaming ecosystem. Invited Indonesian game studio, game community, game professionals and media are welcome to observe. Shall you part of aforementioned segments and willing to observe during the FGD, please reach out to event@suarise.com.

Online Talk Show Series on Accessible Gaming Sparking Inclusive Game Experience in Indonesia (Virtual)

13 Jun 2026 | 3:00 PM-4:30 PM Asia/Jakarta (Indonesia)

An online talk show connecting game studios, developers, disabled gamers, accessibility practitioners, and gaming communities to initiate broader conversations about accessible gaming in Indonesia. The session aims to encourage collaboration, awareness, and practical action toward creating more inclusive gaming ecosystems and experiences. Accessible Gaming by bringing together diverse stakeholders — from game practitioners and communities to disabled gamers — to spark dialogue and share emerging practices in Indonesia. As the largest gaming market in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is home to an estimated 192 million gamers. Indonesian game studios are also increasingly involved in the global game development ecosystem, contributing to internationally scaled projects and production pipelines. At the same time, the global gaming industry has started paying more serious attention to accessibility through inclusive design practices and accessibility features that support players with diverse needs and ways of interaction. Despite this potential, millions of Indonesians with disabilities still face barriers in accessing digital products and gaming experiences. This talk show explores how the gap between accessibility needs and current implementation can be transformed into an opportunity — not only to expand market reach, but also to position Indonesian studios and developers as active contributors within the evolving global game industry. The discussion will also highlight how accessibility can become part of innovation, product quality, and international competitiveness for local studios seeking to engage with global audiences and industry standards.

Workshop Reverse Empathy Map – For Game Studio and Developers (In Person)

20 Jun 2026 | 9:00 AM-4:30 PM Asia/Jakarta (Jakarta Pusat, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia)

An interactive workshop introducing the Reverse Empathy Map, a participatory accessibility method developed by Suarise to help teams better understand barriers experienced by disabled users in digital products and interactive experiences. Unlike conventional empathy mapping that often relies on assumptions, this approach encourages participants to examine friction points, exclusion patterns, sensory overload, and accessibility gaps directly from the perspective of users who encounter them. Through accessibility simulation, discussion, and guided reflection, participants will explore how design decisions, gameplay mechanics, interfaces, audio, controls, and interaction systems may unintentionally create barriers for different users. The workshop is designed to help studios, designers, and developers move beyond compliance-oriented thinking and build a more practical understanding of inclusive game experiences. This session also aims to encourage local game teams to start accessibility discussions earlier within their production process by using user-centered and experience-based approaches that are more contextual to real implementation challenges in Indonesia. This event is for selected Indonesian game studio, game community, game professionals and media. Shall you part of aforementioned segments and willing to take part representing your studio/community, please reach out to kelas@suarise.com.
