A11yID Sharing Session: Serba-serbi Audio Description (Talk Show) (In Person)

In Indonesia entertainment sector, there is a rise of awareness of inclusive entertainment. While many events, including concerts starting to provide sign language interpreter, many visual based entertainmet still lack of accomodation for those in need, such at people with Low Vision and the Blind. This sharing session will introduce and discuss the importance of audio description, how to do it correctly, and how it should be performed in digital platform. Hosted by A11yID, the speaker will be from a certified audio description specialist. Whether you’re a designer, developer, content creator, or simply curious about accessibility, this session will deepen your understanding of inclusive storytelling—before enjoying the final presentations of the Accessibility Design Challenge.

Final Presentation & Demoday Accessibility Design Challenge | Suarise x A11yID (In Person)

Join us as we celebrate innovation and inclusion at the final presentation day of Indonesia’s first Accessibility Design Challenge, hosted by Suarise and A11yID. This event is the culmination of weeks of independent learning, group workshops, and mentorship where students and professionals in UI/UX have reimagined how accessibility can be integrated from the design stage. Now, our finalist teams are ready to present their Figma prototypes and accessibility documentation—demonstrating how thoughtful design can break digital barriers. Whether you’re a designer, developer, educator, policymaker, or accessibility advocate, this is your chance to see inclusive design in action, connect with the community, and be inspired by the next generation of accessibility champions. — The Accessibility Design Challenge event stems from critical insights highlighted in a recent Deque Case Study in 2023, which revealed that a staggering 67% of accessibility issues originate during the design phase of digital products.Therefore, there is an urgency of eto enhance awareness and practical skills in digital accessibility design among students and UI/UX professionals. Creating Accessible Learning Content using dominKnow | ONE Webinar (Virtual)

When it comes to creating inclusive digital learning content, accessibility requirements can be difficult to understand and interpret, making it challenging for instructional designers and content authors to create content that is accessible for all learners. Our complimentary webinar offer tips for creating accessible learning, based on our interpretation of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Using the content authoring platform dominKnow | ONE, we will demonstrate how content authors can use the tool to create accessible learning content that complies with WCAG 2.2. We will also show you what these features look like from the learner’s perspective, using a sample course we have created.

Some of the features we will demonstrate in the webinar include:

Awareness: It’s not design if it’s not accessible (Private/Internal)

In this internal awareness workshop for our Experience Design team, we will explore why accessibility must be at the heart of everything we create. Through hands-on activities using assistive technology settings and disability simulators, we will foster empathy and deepen understanding of diverse user needs. The session will also provide practical design tips to help embed accessibility into our everyday workflows.

For many companies in Portugal, 2025 will mark the date on which the new law on accessibility applied to the private sector will come into force. Resulting from a European legislative initiative, the European Accessibility Act, this will be a challenge for products and services, with a view to creating a more inclusive reality. In Portugal, for some time now, there have been some companies that have been making very sustained progress in this area. Transforming products and services, creating new ways of working as a team and even redefining many of their internal policies. In this conversation, we will seek to highlight concrete examples of activities and initiatives from two companies that are completely essential to the lives of consumers in Portugal: Sonae MC (owner of Continente) and IKEA.
