Accessibility ends with “y”. But it also needs to begin with “why”. Just as important as having the right accessibility techniques is knowing why accessibility is important. Amy Albin (she/her), a member of Vispero’s Human Resources team, an industrial/organizational psychologist, and a blind JAWS user, will present reasons for making your software offerings accessible to users with and without disabilities.
Join TPGi to learn how you can start small and steady, and build up to making a profound shift towards embedding accessibility in your organization, both in terms of technical process and—most importantly—becoming part of the culture of your teams. What changes can people in different roles make right now to get the ball rolling? How can you keep that ball rolling with minimal resources? Register today!

Graphics, photos, charts – visual representations play an important role in teaching/learning materials. In this Makerspace, we invite teachers to work together in small groups to create alt texts for images from their own teaching-learning materials after a brief input. Using the various examples, they will learn the basic rules for formulating alternative texts and how to meet the special challenges of different teaching and examination materials. All participants bring a graphic or an image for which you need an image description.

UMBRAAD is an opportunity for Umbraco and web practitioners to get together, learn and discuss accessibility in general, find out what’s happening with Umbraco accessibility and to pick up any tools and techniques that may help them improve the accessibility of their sites.
