To commemorate Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), the Division of Academic Innovation is hosting an event showcasing simulations of various disabilities to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital access and inclusion for the more than 1 billion people with disabilities/impairments worldwide. Activities will include low vision simulation, demonstration of orientation and mobility practices, demonstration of assistive technology devices, and first hand experience with service and therapy animals. The UNTHSC Office of Disability Access will be there to provide information on services available to students with disabilities. Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth, Canine Companions, and PAWS are participating organizations in this event.
