By designing products with accessibility in mind, we can make the world a little easier to navigate for everyone. However, building truly inclusive and accessible products requires careful consideration of the users needs. It’s essential to make accessibility a key part of product strategy rather than an afterthought. It is estimated that approximately one billion people worldwide, which accounts for 15% of the global population, live with some form of disability. An internal marketing “Community of Practice” session to promote accessibility awareness to RICOH USA employees

In Finland alone, over a million people require more accessible digital services. As a response to the growing need for designing and building a more accessible future, we at Futurice would like to invite you to our event Empowering diversity in tech on May 25th, starting at 17.00, both online and live at the Tampere premise. This event gives people with disabilities and those working with them the opportunity to share their experiences of digital products with the community of people who build them. These informative talks from accessibility experts and advocates will equip you with the knowledge and empathy to build more accessible digital services ahead of the 2025 European Accessibility Act

This event gives people with disabilities and those working with them the opportunity to share their experiences of digital products with the community of people who build them. We get to hear our speakers share their personal experiences on digital and physical accessibility from a cultural and social perspective, as well as the importance of accessibility in tech and design. We will have enlightening talks from three fantastic speakers: Amu Urhonen, an activist and chair of the Abilis Federation, Terhi Manninen from the Finnish Fed­er­a­tion of the Visually Impaired, and accessibility specialist Azra Tayyebi from Gofore. There will also be a Q&A panel. This event is hybrid.

Accessibility is something that involves different contexts and scenarios. The NC Higher Education Digital Accessibility Collaborative invites you to join them for the 3rd annual Join the Journey: Digital Accessibility Conference on June 15, 2023. The free conference will be held virtually over Zoom in celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day.
