The event will be held in a webinar format and include prerecorded training sessions on various topics pertaining to accessibility best practices. There will also be a virtual student panel that will address resources, challenges, and preferences, and virtual faculty panel entitled “How Accessibility Improves the Online Educational Experience”

 TCS Digital Teaching and Learning team will discuss best practices for using video and audio to support a culture of access and inclusion. 

The public is invited to learn how the State of Minnesota ensures digital accessibility for citizens & employees. Minnesotans rely on state government for accurate information & critical services. As we rely more on digital connections for our everyday lives, we must make sure that digital content, websites, & services are made with accessibility in mind.

UCSC’s Disability Resource Center and the Accessible Technology Committee (ATC) in partnership with consultant Len Burns invite you to attend this year’s Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD 2020). The goal of this event is to promote practical ways to help individuals with disabilities enjoy full access to campus resources. As we mark Global Accessibility Awareness Day, I reflect on the tremendous advances driven by our team, and by the dedicated individuals and businesses with whom we are so pleased to work with.

At Microsoft, we’ve been focused on improvements to real-time speech-to-text transcription, visual recognition technology and predictive text functionality. For example, we recently added new capabilities to Microsoft Soundscape including the ability to share Markers and filter for ‘Essential Services’ so people who are blind or have low vision are better supported in a contactless world.

Accessible design starts with color choice, and Adobe Color is creating tools to bring accessibility directly into color creation.

Diamond is going to discuss the 2nd Annual State of Accessibility Report (SOAR). Written with the digital community in mind, the SOAR report identifies specific accessibility deficiencies of top websites and includes a list of actionable steps developers can take to address accessibility issues now.
