Our fundamentals training is great for those who are just starting to learn about digital accessibility. This training is intended for all audiences, including policymakers, management, content creators, developers, designers, testers, and everything in between. Training agenda: What is digital accessibility, and why is it important? What are the most important European digital accessibility laws and guidelines? How do people with disabilities navigate the web? How can you champion accessibility to make a difference in your organization today? How do I get started with accessibility?

Participate in the worldwide Global Accessibility Awareness Day to expand your knowledge about digital accessibility, develop practical skills to make your resources more accessible, and grow your community of accessibility allies. Agenda includes topics such as the history and importance of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, the legal landscape and standards for digital accessibility, best practices for creating accessible digital content, image and color accessibility, website accessibility basics, evaluating third-party vendor accessibility, and accessible academic content design, concluding with resources and Q&A.

Canvas-based applications have become essential to how modern teams collaborate. But the very qualities that make them powerful also make them some of the least accessible interfaces on the web. The patterns we rely on for accessible HTML simply don’t map onto an infinite canvas. What kind of challenges arise in interactive canvases and whiteboards? In this talk, Anna Dulny-Leszczyńska and Wojtek Krzesaj walk through real-world examples of accessibility features already present on the market. You’ll see what makes interactive applications challenging for users with disabilities — and how even small improvements can make a real difference.
