Web Accessibility Directive (WAD) Review Validation Workshop (Virtual)

On behalf of the European Commission, Funka, PwC and Open Evidence have carried out a review of the Web Accessibility Directive, how it is currently working and what can be improved. In this assignment, we have collected and analysed data, monitoring reports, experiences and input from all Member States and relevant stakeholders. It’s now time to share and validate the main highlights, lessons learned and conclusions with you!

Reading in the dark® (In Person)

Through the absence of light, this format cancels any distinction between those who read with their eyes, those with their hands, and those with their ears. Well known authors and blind or print impaired readers alternately read the same book, revealing the different ways of using it. Marco Peano, writer and editor, will take part in the event and excerpts from his book “Morsi“ will be read. The initiative is organized in the framework of Aldus UP, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme.

Second Slovenian Accessibility Awareness Day (Activity)

My private contribution to Global Accessibility Awareness Day will build upon findings from accessibility evaluations from the first Slovenian Accessibility Awareness Day from 2021. It will also include some comments about the first report of European Union’s Web Accessibility Directive and how and why must private companies prepare for European Accessibility Act. Personal reflections that will hopefully spread awareness and potentially suggest improvements.
