BA Digital are hosting our first Global Accessibility Awareness Day event. We’re hosting speakers from the digital, aviation and accessibility advocacy areas who will give be giving some short talks throughout the day. They will be talking about their experience and expectations when it comes to travelling as a person with a disability. This will be an internal only event.

Employees are encouraged to watch LinkedIn learning course on Digital Accessibility in Modern Workplace to learn more about inclusive tools they can use in their daily work life for 15 days around GAAD and participant names will be entered in a draw for prizes.

Hilton: A Day-Long Celebration of Digital Access and Inclusion (Private/Internal)

Hilton’s Digital Accessibility Team will partner with our Abilities and NextGen Team Member Resource Groups to host a day-long celebration with in-person and virtual learning webinars – spanning our offices globally. We have 20 education and training sessions focused on Accessible Technology, Inclusive Workplaces, and Inclusive Travel Experiences. In person activities allow the Hilton Team to learn about and experience assistive technology and get their questions answered by our team.

Accessibility Demystified: Global Accessibility Awareness Day Webinar (Private/Internal)

Do you know what digital accessibility is? we put you to the test (Private/Internal)

The objective of this initiative is to make Bankinter employees aware of the importance of having an inclusive culture. We launched a challenge that consists of thinking about the best way to accompany some of the images on the Bankinter website with alternative text. Through a quiz distributed to a staff of more than 4,000 bank employees, we want to take advantage of this day to promote reflection on the problems that our customers may have.

Flexion is dedicating its continuous learning “Flexcelerate” Thursday to building greater company-wide accessibility awareness and broadening our best practices. We are doing a complete takeover of Flexcelerate to help us improve our knowledge and skills about how to make the work we do more accessible and inclusive. Each guild will explore a different accessibility topic from their perspective: engineering, UX—even recruiting!

Fix your Documents! (Private/Internal)

We recently acquired BlackBoard Ally to increase digital accessibility for Holy Family students, faculty, and staff. We want to set this day aside to introduce Ally to our faculty and help them understand the importance of providing accessible documents to our students. We will provide training through a variety of mediums including onsite/online one-to-one and small group instruction, FAQ virtual and onsite, a quick question hotline, and asynchronous tutorials.

Unintentional Exclusion to Intentional Inclusion (Private/Internal)

CarMax & Edmunds, leaders in the automotive research and retail space, are collaborating with Level Access, an industry leader in digital accessibility consulting, to create an interactive event for their employees that is both informative and fun to recognize GAAD! The agenda will include interactive games, raffle giveaways, and a session on how to take product creation from unintentional exclusion to intentional inclusion.

Accessibility Awareness and Myths (Private/Internal)

The Customer Experience and Architecture Services teams are partnering to host the inaugural GAAD celebration for our organization. Educating others on the importance of a11y, thoughtful design, and inclusion throughout the development process. We will achieve this by walking through common accessibility myths to get teams excited to be an a11y advocate. We are also hosting interactive games, quizzes, and giveaways for participants throughout the week.
