COVID-19 has given us several lessons to ponder, reflect and resonate on. Digital world is seeing unprecedented surge across all domains. Along with core application functionality, non-functional facets are gaining a lot of momentum, with organizations seeing adverse impact from lack of quality in these areas. Accessibility, an engineering attribute that remained confined for use by People with Disabilities (PwD), has also been gaining significant momentum.

The current global pandemic has changed the way most of us do business in rapid fashion. The necessity to move our operations online has created a steep learning curve for employees and customers alike. But for those of us who live with disabilities, this shift has presented both hurdles and opportunities for inclusion. This year’s event will address both the hurdles and opportunities and suggest ways your business might best address them.

UW commemorates GAAD by offering a full day of lectures, workshops, and other activities related to digital accessibility. All events are open to everyone in the UW Community. In 2020, many of the activities will be closely aligned with the IT Accessibility Challenge.
