Accessibility isn’t just for GAAD, it’s for life, but as we have for the past few years, UXPA UK is joining in the celebrations. We’re always glad when it’s GAAD! Speakers Jamie Knight and Danny Weissberg will give two fascinating talks on the potential and power that digital accessibility can provide in terms of inclusive research and design for the Metaverse and Inclusive AI in a Voice-First World. Design Research by the Visually Impaired and Large Corporations that You Can Only Hear About Here|PLAYERS

The prototyping team PLAYERS has co-created products and services for the visually impaired with Mizuno, JR East, the Blind Soccer Association, and others. This event, held in collaboration with GAAD Japan, will be a frank talk about the design research conducted by PLAYERS and the “white cane that makes you want to go out with it” jointly planned with Mizuno, from the viewpoints of visually impaired people, supporters, and companies.

Spring Agora 2022

Agora is a conference aimed at ICT utilisation by visually impaired users. The plenary session will take place on Saturday morning and will offer participants the opportunity to learn about selected topics through short, frontal-led presentations. Increasing Inclusion through Participatory Design Ethics: Empowering Marginalised Groups and Vulnerable Citizens

This event is an inaugural lecture. Professor Anastasios Maragiannis will present an overview of co-design methodologies, demonstrating how embedding inclusivity ethics at the baseline of such processes can result in immediate benefits for the designer and the end-user. During the event, will outline research that mobilising inclusivity ethics, an under-investigated aspect of design training and discourse can significantly improve design practice research for the 21st-century world we live in.
