On 19th May 2022 the international accessibility community celebrates the Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). In support of increasing accessibility awareness and offering ING colleagues a chance to take part in accessibility related challenges, the Global Accessibility Guild introduces ING’s first accessibility hackathon on May 23rd.

A 90-minute interactive masterclass for BIMA members to find out how you can use inclusive design techniques to improve your website accessibility. Key learnings from this masterclass will include: – What is accessibility and who does it affect – Disability and the law – What is inclusive design – Methods you can use to design inclusively – Tips for improving accessibility for your digital products.
TMC has designed the activity “Veure-hi amb les orelles, sentir-hi amb els ulls” (Listening with your ears, seeing with your eyes) as part of the CROMA programme (Fundació Autònoma Solidària). Children in schools in the area surrounding UAB have been working on the co-creation of a 360º video and have learned about accessibility services. On 18 May they will be visiting our research team at the university to show the results from their workshops.
An afternoon of UCSF digital accessibility allies sharing tips and strategies for promoting and producing accessible content.
We recently acquired BlackBoard Ally to increase digital accessibility for Holy Family students, faculty, and staff. We want to set this day aside to introduce Ally to our faculty and help them understand the importance of providing accessible documents to our students. We will provide training through a variety of mediums including onsite/online one-to-one and small group instruction, FAQ virtual and onsite, a quick question hotline, and asynchronous tutorials.
For the 3rd year at Square Enix West, we’re organizing an Accessibility Week around GAAD to educate and raise awareness about accessible experiences, inclusive spaces and disability representation within our company. All Square Enix West employees are invited to assist, virtually. External speakers and advocates will be talking about their experiences, the world of accessibility and disability inclusion. This is a way for us to educate our employees, but also offer a paid gig for speakers.
In celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (May 20), FIS’ Disability Inclusion Network hosted an employee event featuring Dr. Megan Lawrence, Microsoft’s Sr. Accessibility Evangelist. FIS employees learned how to use accessibility features already available in Microsoft applications and the importance of ensuring accessibility throughout their daily workplace practices.
