Digitale toegankelijkheid is meer dan het volgen van de WCAG-richtlijnen. Een toegankelijk product zorgt ervoor dat je een grotere doelgroep bereikt, biedt een betere gebruikerservaring en verhoogt de online vindbaarheid en conversie. Digitale toegankelijkheid is niet alleen essentieel voor mensen met een beperking, maar biedt voordelen voor jouw bedrijf en de samenleving als geheel. Verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling van digitale producten Als product owner, product manager of hoofd van de digitale afdeling ben jij verantwoordelijk voor het ontwikkelen van digitale producten die aantrekkelijk en bruikbaar zijn voor de doelgroep. Het is daarbij essentieel om te zorgen dat deze producten toegankelijk zijn voor een breed publiek, inclusief mensen met verschillende tijdelijke en permanente beperkingen. Spring Agora 2023

Agora is a conference aimed at information and communications technologies utilisation by visually impaired users. The program of Agora includes # plenary session where participants are introduced to the news in the field via short frontal lectures; # exhibition part where they can explore the products and services from many assistive technology vendors; # practically focused workshops where they learn to control and use the chosen solutions efficiently from experienced tutors. This year’s edition offers 7 plenary talks, including the premiere demonstration of Dot Pad or OrCam MyRead, 8 exhibition booths introducing a broad range of assistive technologies and services and 17 hands-on workshops covering a wide range of topics from information, communications and assistive technologies. The language of the conference is Czech.

Digital Tools for Museum Accessibility: How to Improve Visitor Experience

Round table on the digital accessibility of museums, the requirements and regulations in this area, the tools by which the digital products of museums can become more accessible to people with disabilities. The participants are museum specialists, experts with disabilities, IT specialists and ITMO students. Round table organized by the State Russian Museum and ITMO University. One of the goals of the round table is to identify and formulate museums’ needs in the area of digital accessibility, and to find ways to solve existing problems. In the future, based on the identified requests, the Russian Museum, together with ITMO University, plans to formulate methodological recommendations for museum employees on creating digital accessibility, which will take into account the specifics of these cultural institutions. These recommendations may be in demand among museums in Russia and will help create a more accessible digital environment. This is an important step towards making cultural heritage accessible to all.
