Design for Good – GAAD Challenge (Virtual)
21 Apr 2026 – 21 May 2026 | 8:00 AM-8:00 PM Asia/Jakarta (Indonesia)
As part of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), this design challenge invites creatives in Indonesia to reflect on a simple question: why does accessibility matter? Participants are encouraged to create and share visual content based on their own perspectives and experiences. The interpretation is open, as long as it stays connected to the theme. Participants will share their work on social media, helping amplify the message and reach broader audiences. Through this process, the challenge hopes to open up more space for voices, stories, and ideas around accessibility, including everyday barriers, inclusive design, and how accessibility shapes people’s lives.

Accessible by Design: Crafting Assistive Tools with 3D Printing (In Person)
09 May 2026 | 2:00 PM-5:00 PM Asia/Singapore (Singapore, Singapore)
Turn empathy into action. Join 55 Minutes and Salvage Garden to 3D-print tools for PwDs and dive into inclusive design. Standard product design often overlooks the needs of People with Disabilities (PwDs). A simple task like using chopsticks or opening a can can be a daily barrier. Through this Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) event, you will get to join 55 Minutes and Salvage Garden for an intimate, hands-on workshop where we turn empathy into action. To ensure every participant receives personalised guidance, we are limiting this session to 12 participants. You will have the direct support needed to produce your own 3D-printed assistive tool.

Ploppy Pairs – Accessibility In-Game Event (Activity)
14 May 2026 – 23 May 2026 | 12:00 AM-12:00 PM America/Los_Angeles (United States of America)
My card matching game Ploppy Pairs is accessible via the support of VoiceOver on iOS, macOS and tvOS. It always tells you the index of the card, what image it has on it when you tap it and if you found a matching pair or not. During the 05/14/2026 and 05/23/2026 all cards are blank by default and there is a toggle where you can show the images or hide them again. The idea behind this is to bring more attention to accessibility and bring people without visual impairment to give the game a try by using VoiceOver. The app is also designed for kids – so it can be played from very early ages on. The app is available world wide (except China) and is localized into the following languages: English, Arabic, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian Bokmål, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese. Minimum OS versions are: iOS 16.0 macOS 12.0 tvOS 16.0

GAAD 2026 — Preflight (Seoul): Korean post + promo credits (Virtual)
15 May 2026 – 28 May 2026 | 12:00 AM-11:59 PM Asia/Seoul (Korea (Republic of))
Preflight is an AI-built app launch preflight checking service operated by Fount Lab in Seoul. For GAAD 2026, we published a blog post in Korean about accessibility patterns commonly seen on Korean web (color contrast, form labels, keyboard focus, image alt, Hangul font fallback) and how AI-generated frontends frequently overlook them. The post also includes our own site’s Lighthouse and axe results — 94 / 100 accessibility (lowest of two pages), 9 axe nodes, classified as BLOCK 0 / SOON 2 / EXPERT 0 / DECIDED 2. Design trade-offs are quoted verbatim from our design doc so readers can compare with their own pre-launch checks. https://launchpreflight.com/blog/accessibility-day-2026-self-check During May 15 – 28 (KST), the GAAD2026 promo code grants +3 security check credits, also usable for accessibility checks. Redeemable on the account page. The accessibility checker beta separately offers 2 free monthly checks. https://launchpreflight.com/a11y-preflight/start GAAD is an awareness day, not a marketing day. Our aim is a small contribution to Korean-language accessibility content, where the gap is visible — the official GAAD site supports 9 languages, none of them Korean.
