This one-hour American Sign Language (ASL) class will cover common conversational ASL basics and touch upon cultural awareness aspects of Deaf community members. Students should arrive prepared to participate and learn ASL signs with HASA’s amazing Deaf instructors, as well as cultural tips (e.g., appropriate gestures and body language). This class teaches effectively communicating strategies in ASL, but also to some “dos and dont’s” when interacting with members of the Deaf community.
